Areas of Work
What I can support you with
I work with people affected by many forms of abuse and trauma — and I also offer relationship and family counselling for couples and families who want steadier connection. Therapy is always tailored to you: your pace, your needs, your goals.
Relationship & Family Counselling
Relationships — whether with a partner, a family member, or within the family unit — can feel painfully stuck. The same arguments, the same distance, the same hurt. I offer a calm, structured space to slow things down, understand what's happening underneath, and rebuild connection — as a couple or as a family.
Child Abuse
Whether the abuse happened recently or years ago, the effects can ripple through every part of your life. I work with adults and young people carrying the weight of childhood abuse — helping you process, stabilise, and begin to rebuild at your own pace.
Emotional Abuse
Emotional abuse can be hard to name and even harder to recover from. The self-doubt, the walking on eggshells, the feeling that something is wrong but you can't quite explain it. I help you untangle the impact and find your footing again.
Physical Abuse
The effects of physical abuse go far beyond the physical. Hypervigilance, fear, shame, and difficulty feeling safe in your own body are all common. Together, we work on safety, stabilisation, and reclaiming a sense of control.
Sexual Abuse
Sexual abuse leaves deep, complex wounds — often carried in silence for years. I provide a safe, non-judgemental space where you can begin to process what happened, at your pace, without pressure to share more than you're ready for.
PTSD
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder can feel like being trapped in a loop — flashbacks, nightmares, emotional numbness, and constant alertness. I work with you to understand your triggers, develop coping strategies, and gradually reduce the hold trauma has on your daily life.
OCD
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder can be exhausting and isolating. The intrusive thoughts, the rituals, the constant anxiety. I offer a compassionate space to explore what's driving the patterns and work toward reducing their grip on your life.
Trauma
Trauma doesn't always come from one event — it can build over time through repeated experiences of feeling unsafe, unheard, or unsupported. Whether it's a single incident or complex trauma, I help you make sense of it and move toward recovery.
Functional Neurological Disorder (FND)
FND causes real, physical symptoms — seizures, tremors, pain, fatigue, mobility issues — that are linked to how the nervous system processes stress and trauma. I have a particular interest and knowledge in FND, and I help people understand the connection between their body and their experiences, and develop practical strategies to manage day-to-day symptoms.
